Our story

Aangan means courtyard: the open square at the centre of a Newar home, where the family cooked and ate together. Our kitchen cooks the way those courtyards did, slowly, over charcoal, with mustard oil and timur.

Everything on the menu comes from a recipe passed down in a Newar family, from the beaten-rice khaja plates to the Thakali thalis of the high valleys.
